February Update
Hello everyone! First of all, we would like to thank everyone for the immense amount of feedback that you all have been sending in. We’ve been reviewing the comments and wanted to release a small update to the demo to hopefully address at least some of the common concerns.
Patch Notes
Motion Sickness & Brightness Updates
Two common complaints we received were regarding people having motion sickness and issues with the brightness of the game.
We made a few adjustments to help with this:
- The default FOV is now 95 instead of 90. If needed, you should be able to further tweak the FOV in the graphics settings (Graphics → FOV).
- Flashing effects for objects has been toned down to not be as bright and as fast. We will be looking into changing the effect for interactable objects in the future to get rid of the flashing effect entirely.
- We have added options to change your walk and run speeds in case the default walk speed is too slow or fast (Controls → Walk/Run Speed)
- We tweaked the cel shading so that the map should no longer appear as bright as before. If it is still too bright, you can edit the gamma settings (Graphics → Gamma).
Puzzle Updates
- Dinner puzzle should not double count items if they are picked up and placed again.
- Fixed an issue where the cards could fall through the desk.
- The guiding circle hint card is now no longer hidden.
- Fixed softlocking with multiple people getting locked into the bathroom.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where Exit to Desktop went back to the Main Menu.
- Fixed an issue where items could become large when picking up and dropping too quickly.
- Updated some in game images that were blurry from a distance.
- Fixed an issue where non-host players could see “Open/Close Door” text for locked doors.
In the coming months we will be focusing on the getting the game ready for release (May 25th), but we will continue to monitor for feedback and suggestions, so definitely keep writing in! If there are pressing issues, we will update the demo, but we will continue to take the feedback and make changes for the final release of the game.
Thanks again everyone for the positive feedback and suggestions. We’re happy to know so many people are enjoying the demo and are looking forward to the main release.
